Prasun P. Shah, MD (pronounced Pra-Soon Shaw) completed his Bachelor of Medicine and subsequently his residency in General Surgery at B.J. Medical College prior to relocating to Brooklyn, NY. Upon relocation to Brooklyn, Dr. Shah completed his training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Maimonides Medical Center.
Dr. Shah is a highly qualified and talented physician with experience in Gastroenterology, and Advanced Endoscopy. Additionally, he received extensive training in outpatient and inpatient Transplant Hepatology at NYU Langone Medical Center where he cared for both pre-transplant and post transplant patients, focusing on immuno-suppression and long term care.
Dr. Shah attended the IBD (Irritable Bowel Disease) Remedy Camp hosted by the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. During this program, he rotated with multiple world renowned specialists, gaining experience in biological and immunomodulatory medications and treatment of advanced and highly complex IBD cases.Dr. Shah is trained in Biliary Endoscopy and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS).
Dr. Shah is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Medical Association (AMA), the Texas Medical Association (TMA), and the Harris County Medical Society (HCMS).
