Meron A. Tesfay completed her Bachelor of Science in biology with advanced honor and cum laude distinction. She subsequently attended Howard University College of Medicine for her medical education prior to moving to Saint Louis where she completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Saint Louis University. Throughout her training, Dr. Tesfay has engaged in various research projects, presentations, and publications. She is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology.
Dr. Tesfay has been trained in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of ailments involving the gastrointestinal tract, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. She understands the importance of a strong doctor-patient relationship and involves her patients when making medical decisions. It’s this approach, along with her clinical acumen, technical aptitude, and dedication to each patient that makes Dr. Tesfay standout from other gastroenterologists. Her goal is to treat your condition, minimize your gastrointestinal discomfort and improve your overall quality of life through evidence-based medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, yoga, reading and spending time with her family.
Dr. Tesfay is a member of American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), American Medical Association (AMA), Texas Medical Association (TMA), Harris County Medical Society (HCMS).
